How to join an ISO 9001 Awareness course in SQMC's Virtual Classroom.
About your course
We look forward to welcoming you to our virtual classroom, when you join us to gain or improve your understanding of Quality Management Systems on your ISO 9001 Foundation course.
This course is the ideal pre-cursory preparation for an ISO 9001 Auditor course, as it provides a very helpful, real-world understanding of the meaning and application of the Standard's various clauses. The training is also a great platform for people not planning to audit the Standard but may be due to be audited, are considering implementing an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), or are simply starting a new position in which they'll be directly involved with the upkeep of their organisation's QMS.
You'll receive your own copy of the Standard, to use throughout your training and keep afterward. In addition to this, you'll also receive a student workbook - at the front of which we invite you to identify your own personal aims and objectives for the day, which your tutor will work hard to meet!
Virtual classroom
SQMC use Zoom as our virtual classroom platform. This is the most user-friendly video conferencing app we found (and we've experimented with so many!) and you can download this, free, at www.zoom.us, if you do not have it already. If you can achieve an upload speed of at least 2 MBps and a download speed of 16 MBps or greater, you should be fine (this is well above the minimum requirements suggested by Zoom). You can measure your broadband performance at the following link: https://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk A technician will be in the background on the day of the course looking after the techy stuff, so any glitches or hiccups you may have can be sorted immediately.
Timings and method
Our virtual classroom opens at 9:15 am, with the course beginning at 9:30 am. This allows 15 minutes to resolve any technical issues any of the delegates or staff may experience, initially.
Please follow the invitation link in your email to join this Zoom meeting.
The course will end by 5:00 pm, and there will be many breaks throughout the day, including an hour for lunch. The course will comprise a mixture of on-screen and off-screen activities plus tutor-led, interactive sessions.
Please note that attendance at all sessions is a requirement of the course. Where appropriate, our tutor will assess your learning through practical and written exercises, and/or your verbal input.
Participants meeting the learning objectives receive a certificate of completion. This will be posted to your nominated correspondence address – normally within 14 days. If you’d like to order a duplicate certificate for your own personal files, you can still purchase one, for £15 + vat.
Pre-course reading.
As preparation for your training, please take 10 minutes out of your day to read our short article: "A Short Overview of Quality".
