Join an ISO 9001 Internal Auditor course in the SQMC Virtual Classroom
About your course
We look forward to welcoming you to our virtual classroom when you develop your skills as an ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.
Did you know that Florence Nightingale, as well as being a fantastic social reformer and the founder of modern nursing, was also a tremendous Quality Management guru? We dedicate a portion of our course notes to her and her world-changing work, because often the societal benefits which good Quality Management Systems bring with them can go under the radar. As preparation for your training, please read the articles linked, below, which bring Quality Management Systems into clearer focus: what is a QMS, exactly, and what are the real, value-adding benefits of operating one, formally?
Virtual classroom
SQMC uses Zoom as our virtual classroom platform, and you can download this, free, at www.zoom.us. If you can achieve an upload speed of at least 2 MBps and a download speed of 16 MBps or greater, you should be fine (this is well above the minimum requirements suggested by Zoom). You can measure your broadband performance at the following link: https://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk Our technician will be in the background on the day of the course looking after the techy stuff, so any glitches or hiccups you may have can be sorted immediately.
Timings and method
Our virtual classroom opens at 9:15 am on both days, with the course beginning at 9:30 am. This allows 15 minutes to resolve any technical issues any of the delegates or staff may experience, initially. Each day will end by 5:00 pm, and there will be many breaks throughout each day, including an hour for lunch. The course will comprise a mixture of online and offline activities and tutor-led, interactive sessions.
Please note that attendance at all sessions is a requirement of the course. There is no final, formal exam. Instead, you will be assessed during a series of relatively stress-free, practical, and written exercises throughout the course.
Successful participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion issued by the Scottish Quality Management Centre. This will be posted to the correspondence address given at the time of booking – normally within 14 days. If you’d like to order a duplicate certificate for your own personal files, you can still purchase one, for £15 + vat.
Pre-course reading.
There are two reading assignments for you, as preparation for your training. It should take no longer than 20 minutes to read both articles.
Assignment 1: "A Short Overview of Quality" (You may have already read this if you also enrolled on our recommended pre-cursory training (ISO 9001 Foundation course).
Assignment 2: "Quality Management Systems in Focus".
Lastly, please watch this short video (4 mins) explaining the Seven Management Principles, central to ISO 9001.
