Fife engineering firm achieves excellent level of QHSE compliance.

Fife-based DPS Group has worked with SQMC for two years and credited us with making sure that it meets its business objectives, retains essential Quality, Safety and Environmental compliance and helping business growth.

DPS Group is an inventive process engineering group with a vast amount of experience in the design and supply of integrated process systems, packages, and technologies for the upstream oil & gas and environmental technology industries.

The DPS Group developed and implemented a Quality Assurance System, which is registered to the BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Standard. The system is constantly reviewed, evaluated and audited to establish greater efficiency and product and service quality, without taking shortcuts or using inferior products or materials.

Colin Burnett, Director from DPS Group explained: “Because we work in the gas and oil industry and major organisations like SSE and Scottish Power, it had become increasingly obvious to us that we needed to obtain certification to the Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.

“Our previous assessment company was not UKAS accredited. To allow the DPS Group to utilise further our BS EN 9001:2008, 14001:2004, and 18001:2007 accreditation, we interviewed various suppliers that offered a fully accredited service.

“We needed this to happen in record time to meet our clients’ requirements - as for many, it was a pre-requisite to doing business with us. That was when SQMC was recommended, based on their track record. We decided SQMC offered the best level of knowledge and support that we required.”

Working with SQMC was fundamental in DPS achieving its goals and enabling the DPS senior team to find out more about management systems and international standards.

SQMC provided invaluable support in terms of developing robust documentation and recording systems, creating quality plans, emergency plans, and project execution plans for new contracts.
