Edinburgh International Conference Centre are celebrating the receipt of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 registration certificates from UKAS accredited Certification Body, BM Trada.
It was the culmination of four months hard work behind the scenes, to update and upgrade their existing integrated Quality and Environmental Management System from the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 international Standards, which are gradually being phased out by organisations worldwide ahead of the ultimate transition deadline of 2018.
EICC are the first organisation to report their success to the Scottish Quality Management Centre, Scotland's Quality Assurance think tank.
Co-ordinator of the achievement is EICC's Business Excellence manager, Reynaldo Guino-o. In an EICC press release issued today (Tuesday), he said: "In an industry where environmental standards are becoming increasingly important to the decision-making process in terms of where to hold conferences and events, we are confident that the venue’s continuing commitment to quality and environmental excellence will pay dividends for the EICC by translating to increased business wins.”
A longstanding patron of SQMC's in-house training services, the EICC is an award winning organisation and a previous winner of the European Business Excellence Award, including the Sustainable Excellence Award 2015, provided by SQMC Partner-in-Excellence, Quality Scotland. The Morrison Street centre was opened in 1995 to attract business tourists to Edinburgh and Scotland, generating further commercial capacity for the city and the wider Scottish economy.
SQMC Director, Kenny Hannah, congratulated Reynaldo and his colleagues on the achievement of their latest accolade, saying: "I've admired EICC's proven commitment to Quality Assurance for more than a decade. In keeping with the ethos of the ISO 9000 'family' of Quality Standards, they've developed a highly-trained and flexible workforce, capable of meeting their company goals and client requirements with consistency and efficiency."
